Old Dogon Mali Stool
A Dogon stool of hourglass shape with two supporting columns facilitating transport. We have handled dozens of African stools, loving the energy they possess, but do not recall having one older or with more character.
In Dogon and other African cultures the seat was reserved for elders or persons believed worthy of respect.
This stool, strong, stable, and with a story to tell, is weathered, chipped, and has been exposed to the elements for many years.
We believe it to be 19th century or before.
