Chris Fraticelli, “Get Out Of Your Own Head”
As a platoon commander in Somalia and Operation Desert Storm, Chris Fraticelli was tasked with the dangerous job of defusing and blowing up mines and explosives. Later as an artist, Fraticelli began to examine the roots of our cultural biases. For the last decade he has reassembled broken objects and ceramics into masterful sculptures. The cacophony of shapes, objects, and themes in this work speak ironically and forcefully to the inherent contradictions in our society.
