COMMENTS
”This is the painting when I discovered my glasses were a wrong prescription. I had to back off of it to find out if it was working but the painting looked fuzzy. An eye doctor prescribed new glasses which changed my life and saved the painting.”
—Robert P. Conway, A Catalogue Raisonné 1936-2006, June Wayne - The Art of Everything, Rutgers, The State University, 2007.
“When Wayne was four or five years old, she was looking at comics printed in color, ‘and being nearsighted, noticed that the images were made up of thousands of little dots, that the green was made of blue and yellow dots’.”
—Betty Ann Brown, “Afternoon with June: June Wayne's Life & Art”, Midmarch Arts Press, 2012.
