A totally improvised pattern exhibiting a subtle tromp l'oeil. At first, the patterns on each armrest for Jan Haag's classic Riviera seem the same, but in fact Haag has playfully varied the proportion of the colors, making each different. Like Native American artists embellishing their saddles with glittering beadwork, Haag chose to adorn her ride with her own handiwork and symbolism.
